1.What each tool is
Jungle Scout
Software for Amazon sellers, sold as Catalyst plans. Product Database, Opportunity Finder and Sales Estimator help you choose what to sell. Keyword Scout researches keywords, Rank Tracker follows your rank, and Listing Builder writes listings. Bigger plans add sales analytics, inventory and review tools. Every plan includes a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox.
Shopperwords
A Chrome extension. When you type in Amazon’s search box, it shows its own dropdown in place of Amazon’s: Amazon’s suggestions, then the words buyers type before yours and after it. It works on 22 Amazon sites, with no account. It doesn’t research products, track rank or look up competitors.
2.How keyword research works in each
Jungle Scout
- Keyword Scout: search by keyword, or reverse-search up to 10 ASINs to see the keywords competing products use.
- It shows exact and broad search volume, monthly and quarterly trends for up to two years, and cost per click for exact, broad and headline ads.
- Starter allows 50 searches a month, with one month of history and no ad data or export. Growth Accelerator allows 250. Brand Owner lists no limit.
Shopperwords
- Type a keyword on Amazon. Shopperwords asks Amazon’s autocomplete for your keyword plus each letter, and with words in front of it.
- For “yoga mat” that gives 259 keywords as you type, or 582 with Deep Expand. The keyword columns have no monthly limit.
- Free includes departments, exclude words, saved keywords and CSV export.
- Pro adds estimated monthly searches with a 12-month trend, cost per click, and a builder that fills your backend Search Terms.
- It only works from a seed keyword. It can’t look up the keywords a competitor’s product ranks for.
